My Favorite Facial

I had the pleasure of working on a wonderful client that I have not seen in about 10 weeks. We decided to return to the original facial we did on our first meeting 2 years ago. WOW! What a fabulous facial treatment-Detoxifying Dermolyse with the Added Detox Mask as a bonus Mask! I love this facial- it is a mixture of a biological and a herbal peel that is never a let down. All skin types benefit from this formula- dehydrated, dry, to oily and congested to acne scars and hyper pigmentation. I chose the Spa Beauty Extra Detox Mask before I did the extractions because the minerals and amino acids, and mint offer such clarity, brightness and comfort to the skin.

I am constantly in a new training program and studying the aesthetic trade journals on new facials, new treatments and advances. I pass this on to my clients on a regular basis. I like to surprise my clients and their complexions with new facial treatments and frankly the skin loves this. A personal trainer will tell you that that our muscles do become less responsive when we do the same exercise routine over and over again. It is very much the same with our facial treatments- it is good to mix it up a bit.

I am a big believer in advances in anti aging facials, but it was so good to return to this classic and see such a fabulous result in her skin! When We finished the treatment and I gave her the mirror before she got up from the facial table- her smile said it all!

Is Your Skin having an ah-HA moment?

HA ( hyaluronic acid) is everything to your skin. You need HA for more youthful skin. This is perhaps one ( of the many) most miraculous skin care nutrients ever discovered! HA works extremely well as a topical agent. In fact, it permeates and firms and plumps your skin with moisture so well that it is almost sinful. HA loves moisture! HA is a carbohydrate produced naturally in the body, and it exists in every cell. Chemically it is classified as a glycosaminoglycan and consists of glucuronic acid and N-acetyl glucosamine. It takes approximately three days ( and perhaps less in skin) for each hyaluronic acid molecule to break down and be excreted from the body, so it must be continually replenished. Fully 50 % of the body's hyaluronic acid is found in both the deep underlying layer and the visible epidermal top layer of the skin. Younger skin contains larger amounts of HA keeping the skin younger and healthier. With age, the skin looses its ability to maintain high concentrations of HA, and the ability to hold water, leaving the skin rough, dull and more lined.
In skin, HA acts as a space filler, binding to water and visibly decreasing the look of lines and wrinkles. In 2003 the Food and Drug Admin. approved HA injections to temporarily smooth wrinkles by adding volume under the skin. Research shows that at 4 and 13 week intervals after receiving injections of HA, the the HA induced new collagen production by stretching the skin cells that secrete proteins, stimulating growth factors and inhibiting collagen break down. WOW! This was a recent detailed study conducted at the University of Michigan Med School.
One of the great things about topical HA is that it is so well absorbed into the skin that it can have a wonderfully helpful effect when simply used as a lotion or under a lotion. I recommend HA without any petroleum- 100% natural and pure HA to rejuvenate the skin from the inside out- improving tone and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
